WILLIAM JENNINGS ” BILL” ANDERSON PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY FEBRUARY 18, 1996 AT VULCAN, ALBERTA AT THE AGE OF 89 YEARS.
BELOVED HUSBAND OF 62 YEARS OF ANNIE ANDERSON AND LOVING FATHER OF A SON WAYNE AND HIS WIFE GERRIE, A GRANDSON SHELDON AND HIS WIFE LEANNE ALL OF VULCAN, A GRANDDAUGHTER KIM AND HER HUSBAND KEVIN BOOTH OF MILO, TWO GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN TAYLOR AND SARAH ANDERSON, A BROTHER GEORGE (WIN) OF FT. MACLEOD, A SISTER DORIS (CHESTER) JENSEN OF LETHBRIDGE, THREE SISTERSiN-LAW AVIS, ERMA AND BETTY, NUMEROUS NIECES AND NEPHEWS.
BILL WAS PREDECEASED BY A SON ARVIN IN 1958, FOUR BROTHERS BAYNE, JOE, EDWARD, MAC AND GLEN AND HIS PARENTS EDWARD AND OLIVE.
BILL WAS BORN NOVEMBER 22, 1906 AT STIRLING, ALBERTA WHERE HE LIVED, STARTED SCHOOL AND LATER MOVING TO WENTHAM WITH HIS FAMILY. IN 1927 BILL BEGAN FARMING IN THE BARRHILL DISTRICT, NORTH OF PICTURE BUTTE. HE MARRIED ANNIE MELLOW OF TURIN IN I933. THEIR FAMILY CONSISTED OF TWO BOY’S, WAYNE AND ARVIN. IN I947 BILL PURCHASED FARM LAND AT TURIN. THE TURIN LAND AND BARRHILL LAND WERE BOTH IRRIGATED. WHICH WAS TOO LABOUR INTENSIVE FOR HIM, SO HE PURCHASED SOME DRY LAND AT CHAMPION IN 1952, WHERE HE MOVED TO AND FARMED UNTIL 1959 WHEN HE PURCHASED LAND AT VULCAN. HE CONTINUED TO FARM AT VULCAN UNTIL RETIRING AND MOVED INTO THE TOWN OF VULCAN IN I971. BILL ENJOYED HIS RETIREMENT YEARS COMING OUT TO THE FARM AND BEING WITH HIS GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
FUNERAL SERVICE WAS HELD WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 21, I996 AT 11 A.M. AT THE CHAMPION WARD OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS WITH BISHOP RICHARD LAMBERT OFFICIATING.
INTERMENT IN THE FAMILY PLOT ARCHMOUNT CEMETERY, ON LETHBRIDGE WEDNESDAY AT 2:30 P.M.
