ANDERSON, Plenny Harold   1935 – 2023

Plenny Harold Anderson, formerly of Champion, beloved husband of Betty, passed away at the Calgary South Campus on March 9, 2023 at the age of 87 years.

Plenny, the 4th child of Clarence and Lydia Anderson of Carmangay, was born March 11, 1935 . He, along with his 7 siblings, attended elementary school in Barhill and graduated from Carmangay School. After graduation, Plenny attended Olds Ag College in 1954.

Plenny married Betty Anderson of Champion, in July of 1957. They lived in Lethbridge, then moved to Carmangay then Champion. Plenny started his farming career in 1956. They moved to the home place in 1974 .Together they raised their family of one son and two daughters and kept busy supporting their activities in the community with the Champion Curling Club and the United Church and Champion Congregational Church. Plenny was also a member of the Champion Lions Club, Masonic Lodge and sat on the board of the Headwaters Health Authority.

Plenny and Betty retired from farming and moved to Vulcan and he continued going to Champion to play pool and crib after the move.

Besides his loving wife Betty, Plenny is survived by his son Greg, daughters Lindsay (John) and Anita (Wayne); grandchildren: Logan (Michelle), Kelsey (Dustin), Kirsten, Garrett, Dereka, Kendra, Stacey and Kaitlyn; great grandchildren, Harper and Gunnar; sisters Doreen Trapp, Gladys Christensen and Janette(Perry) Porter, sisters- in-law Barbara Anderson, Pat Anderson, brother-in-law Doug Lyons, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Lydia Anderson, brothers Kenneth, Glen, Lloyd (Gill) and sister Jolayne, brothers- in-law Skeez Christensen and Lloyd Trapp.

Family Interment will be held at Bowville Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life reception at the Champion Community Hall on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 1 pm.

    Have fond memories of the Anderson Family ~ I watched the kids back in the days and always teased by Plenny ~ was also their paper delivery person ~ sorry for your loss of a kind and fun Family guy. Sending condolenses
