Robert Earl Gyorfi of Carmangay AB was called home to his Father October 15, 2024 at the age of 65. He was born May 27, 1959 to Mike and Grace Gyorfi.
Robert had three children, Adam (Danielle) Gyorfi, Jaimee Gyorfi (Stephen) and Kayla (Shaun) Courtney who loved him unconditionally and could not have been more proud to call him Dad. He was a man who never gave up. If he had a dream, he pursued it. He would never sit around talking about ‘how great it would be IF’. That IF always turned into a reality. He taught us that you can win and you can loose but you can never fail. “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength” Philippians 4:13..
Robert is predeceased by his amazing mother Grace Gyorfi, and his best friend and brother Doug Gyorfi, whom without a doubt met him at the gates of Heaven for a long overdue hug. He is survived by his father, Mike Gyorfi, and sister, Margo (Frank) Merkl, of Medicine Hat AB, who cared for him deeply.
Robert’s grandchildren, Wyatt, Maverick, Eva, Rocket, Mitayah, Jordyn, Colter, Odin, Eligh, Becker, and Scout will always hold a very special place in their hearts for their grandpa. You couldn’t help but smile when you saw the twinkle in Robert’s eye when he was around his grandkids. He would sit there with a big grin on his face listening to their nonsense then out of nowhere add in a story from his past that would make us all roar with laughter.
For the majority of Robert’s life he farmed in Bow Island AB. When he couldn’t do that anymore, his fruit and vegetable garden quickly became his happy place. He was a great hunter who always made sure his family was provided for.
But above all this, Robert loved God with all his heart. He woke up everyday thanking Jesus Christ for all he has been given and there was nothing that could alter this mans faith. Ephesians 1-2.
Love you Dad.
A family graveside service will be held October 29, 2024 at Bow Island Cemetery. The family invites everyone to attend coffee time at 3PM at the Bow Island Legion.
