Catherine Susan Norma (nee: Small) Davis “Cathy Sue” passed away August 22, 2023 in Calgary at the age of 39 years.
Beloved mother of Riley, Macey and Grady Werewka of Taber, a daughter Maya of Vulcan, her husband Reed Davis of Vulcan, two brothers Robert (Julie) Powers of Hinton, James Small of Vulcan, and a sister Susan (Glen) Schmeelke. Cathy Sue was well known as Cousin Sibling to Kolby (Michael Williams and son Edward), Wade and Travis Schmeelke and numerous nieces and nephews. Cathy Sue was predeceased by her parents Robert and Frances Small, her infant daughter Jenna Werewka in 2003, her Uncle Doug and Beverly McDowell, nephews James, Justin, Ryan and Shawn Small.
Cathy Sue was born December 20, 1983 in Lethbridge and she attended school in Champion and Claresholm. She began working at Vulcan Extendicare where she trained as a Health care Aide then worked in Taber. Upon returning to Vulcan, she worked at Extendicare and casually at the Vulcan Hospital. Vulcan is where she called home.
Cathy in her younger years enjoyed skating and horse back riding, movie nights with family, boat days at the lake, picnics, spa days with the girls, hiking to the Buffalo rub’ rocks, which were affectionately renamed Cathy Rock, and mornings on the deck with a big mug of coffee.
She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
A Celebration of her Life will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at 3 p.m. at Vulcan United Church with Sue MacDonald officiating. Inurnment to take place with family later in the Champion Cemetery

We feel lucky to had have Cathy as an unexpected presence in our life. Her love of life was infectious. She strived to do for others and make others happy. She was a great Mom. Thinking about all the family member as you adjust to the loss of this lovely young woman.

I am so sorry for your loss. Cathy Sue was an amazing woman. She gave me the confidence in my first figure skating competition and allowed me to borrow her dress which brought me good luck. Cathy Sue always had a smile and kind word, she was like an older sister. She had an inner strength that I could only dream of. She will be greatly missed.

A life time of memories from kindergarten and on; thick as thieves and got into so much mischief. We lost touch over the years but I definitely thought of you often. I’ll miss you, my friend. Rest in peace.
