HARRIS, V. Carol 1942 – 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Vivian Carol Harris (Ransom), known by all as Carol, on July 8th, 2022.

Carol was born on February 21st , 1942 to Dorothy and Glen Ransom in Nanton. After moving to Champion in grade 12 and riding the school bus from Kirkcaldy into Champion, Keith Harris caught her eye. The rest has been history. With the love of her life by her side, Carol went on to have a successful career in banking, winning several tropical cruises as rewards for her performance along the way, and was actively involved in Eastern Star.

Carol went on to have 3 children, Sherrie, Ione and Keith and their family eventually grew to 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her grandchildren will forever remember her as the hyper grandma who always had some incredible store of energy to run after and play with the kids and her incredible patience to teach her grandchildren all of her sewing and crafting talent.

With a laugh, much like her brother Don, that could be heard echoing throughout the house, everyone knew where the fun was at. She loved being involved in the Champion community, was dedicated to the United Church and a friend to many who will continue to carry Carol in their hearts.

After retirement she spent her time creating beautiful quilts for her family, gardening and traveling everywhere from Alberta to the West Coast and camping in her motorhome. She valued spending quality time with her family, which usually ended with a lively game of cards.

Carol was predeceased by her brother Gary, her mother Dorothy, her first father Glen Ransom and her second father Lloyd Phillips. She is survived by her loving husband Keith, her children Sherrie, Keith and Ione, her sister Linda and her brother Don.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Vulcan United Church, Sue MacDonald, D.M. officiating. Inurnment to follow in the Champion Cemetery.

Arrangements in care of Vulcan Funeral Home. Telephone 1-403-485-2633. E-mail condolences through www.vulcanfuneralhome.ca.

Keith, Sherrie, Keith, Ione and families, we are so sorry for your loss of your dear Carol. Keith, your were such good friends to my parents, Raymond and Jean. They spoke highly of you both and treasured your times together. Thank you, for being such good friends to them.
I remember being a little kid in the school yard and watching Keith pick up Carol in his fancy big Chrysler car at lunch time and then bringing her back to school just before our lunch break ended. Your love for each other was strong right from the beginning. You were blessed.
We will remember Carol for her pleasant personality and wonderful laugh and smile. May she Rest In Peace.

Carol was always a lady and a great friend , I and my family were always greeted with a warm smile, great neighbourly love and lots of laughs and stories Many prayers to you all at this great time of sorrow and a masons prayer to you all Thou, O God! knowest our down-sitting and our uprising, and understandest our thoughts afar off. Shield and defend us from the evil intentions of our enemies, and support us under the trials and afflictions we are destined to endure, while travelling through this vale of tears.
