McNICOLL, Eva Frances 1943 – 2022

Eva Frances McNicoll of Vulcan, beloved wife of Rene, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on May 5, 2022 at the age of 78 years.

Eva was born on July 9, 1943 in Bassano, AB to John and Frances Irwin of Arrowwood. Eva had a leather and craft business in Drayton Valley for a few years before moving to Calgary to open a new business in Exclusive Silk Ltd. This furthered her interest in art and flower sales. She met Rene McNicoll and they married in 1987.

Residing in Vulcan now for 22 years, Eva enjoyed being a member of the Nine In A Line Art Gallery but her failing health prevented her from enjoying life to the fullest. She was inspired by nature and enjoyed her garden and beautiful flowers that she lovingly planted.

Eva leaves behind her husband Rene, son Kevin of Calgary, daughters Brenda of Greece and Leslie of Calgary, four grandchildren – Alex and William Lovell of Calgary, and two granddaughters. She will be sadly missed but we are grateful that her soul has returned to God, the creator.

A Celebration of Life was held on Thursday, May 26th at the Vulcan Legion Hall.

Any tributes in Eva’s memory can be made to the Vulcan Health Care Palliative Unit, Box 299, Vulcan, AB T0L 2B0.

Arrangements in care of Vulcan Funeral Home. Telephone 1-403-485-2633. E-mail condolences through www.vulcanfuneralhome.ca.

I had no idea that Eva Frances was no more. That does come as such a shock, and it’s so sad to hear. I heard so many good things about her too.
