I am just hearing of dear Betty’s passing, always a sweet friend to me at church services. She was always interested in knowing what was on the minds of her friend- always a great listener. So kind, so gentle, so humble. She was like having an adopted grandmother for me and loved to stand with me to share a hymn book to sing together. I will miss this dear lady! Till we meet again, and God bless.

PS, I now wonder if GB took all those memories of the kids growing up? Perhaps she’ll meet up with the “Fox and the Hound” (not in these exact words)!,,

Offering my sympathy to Jim, Jackie and Lindsey and their partners, for the loss of Grandma Betty aka GB. I appreciate the personal invitation to attend her funeral in which I was wanting to go. The Betty that I knew was a kind and understanding lady and I along with others will miss her. However I am unable to leave home that particular Thurs as Graham is convalescing at home from a long stint in the hospital and I’m the only one with him as his daughters will be taking a break.
Thinking of you and your families, Diane’s families and Irene and Bobs extended families during this sad time.

Betty and I started out in Grade One together in Brunetta’s one-room school, the only two in our class. I often stayed with the Kunkels in Armada when the roads were bad and the school bus couldn’t get through. Betty and I were the only ones in our Grade Eleven class who said what we wanted to be when we grew up. Fate accomplished: she a school teacher and me a policewoman. Her sister Irene and I were bridesmaids at Betty and Walter’s wedding in Vulcan. We have stayed in contact throughout our lives.
I am very sad to learn of her passing. My sincere condolences to Bob, Irene and all the family.

My sympathy goes out to Jim, Colleen, Dave and their families; as well as to Bob, Irene, and their families. For many years Betty was a close neighbour, a highly regarded school teacher, and a family friend who will be remembered!
