ANDERSON, David Glen September 17, 1941 – February 3, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Glen Anderson of Carmangay, on February 3, 2021, at the age of 79 years.
David was born in Medicine Hat, AB where he grew up and moved with his family to Calgary, AB in his final year of High School. David had an interesting life, joining the bank right out of school, living in Ponoka, Yellowknife, Vernon, Canmore, Lethbridge, Coalhurst and finally, Carmangay. He changed careers from banking to accounting, then to owning D&L Grocery in Ponoka. He then owned the Bottle Depot in Canmore, AB and finally Coalhurst Self Storage before retiring and moving to Carmangay.
David enjoyed travelling and learning about different cultures. He found interest in everything and was a fantastic storyteller. He loved watching football, car racing and enjoyed listening to his music on his booming sound system. He loved cars and everything about them – the more unique the better. He enjoyed camping with his family and the outdoors in general. David followed politics and world events and was always up for an alien conspiracy show. He was an intelligent, fun, sociable, loving, and very generous man. He left us far too soon and will be missed by everyone.
He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Left to cherish his memory are his three children – Cynthia (Kevin), Shelley (Rob), Timothy (Cass), his former wife and long-time friend Laverne; his grandchildren – Jessica, Dezirae (Justice), Konnor, Katlyn (Andrew) and Revan; his great grandchildren – Taoin, Kyler, Kaleb, Hunter, Jaxxon, Raelyn, Addison, Spencer, Rylin, Krayson, and Paetynn; his brothers – Robert and Larry (Deborah) and nephews Danny, Kevin, Mark (Maya) and Chad (Rowena; his sisters – Gail and Brenda (Mike) and niece Susan and many other relatives and friends.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to David’s preferred charity the Mustard Seed, 102-11 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2G 0X5.

I recently moved to Carmangay and I found Mr. David on my way home; a little too late to be able to assist him . All I can say is that he had a peaceful look on his face and that I regret not having the pleasure to meet him before. My deepest condolences to all of his family. May God bless all of you.
Our deepest sympathy on Dave’s passing. We have lived across from Dave since he moved to Carmangay, and have enjoyed having him as a neighbor. He almost always had some humorous story to share when we saw him. He definately had the gift of gab! We will miss his being gone. Our condolences to his entire family.
