The family of Shawna Loanne Wiebe (nee Schneider) are saddened to announce her peaceful passing with family at her side, on December 13, 2019 at the Foothills Country Hospice, at the age of 48 years.
Shawna was born on April 14, 1971 to Garry and Doreen Schneider in Drayton Valley, Alberta. Most of her schooling was in Brock and Delisle, Saskatchewan, where she graduated high school. During those years, she enjoyed playing sports, including hockey and fastball. From an early age, Shawna was involved in the 4-H sheep program where she excelled, winning medals and trophies throughout Western Canada.
After 2 years of university at the U of S in Saskatoon, she moved to Alberta to be closer to her family. There she met her husband, Ralph Wiebe, whom she married in 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they had a diverse business career including oil services, food service and retail. They welcomed their first born, Keenan, on April 18, 2000. Next came Trista on January 19, 2005. And completing the trio was Breena on June 20, 2006. Life was hectic but it was fun.
Shawna’s passion for volunteering at the school led to a career as an Educational Assistant. She loved the challenge of the job, but she mostly loved the people. Shawna enjoyed camping, fishing and playing sports. She volunteered her time coaching baseball and basketball. She also spent time serving on the Arrowwood ECS and High River Fish and Game executive. Shawna spent her life instilling decency and values into the people around her and the people she loved.
Shawna is survived by her loving husband, Ralph, her three children, Keenan, Trista, and Breena Wiebe, her stepchildren Amanda (Brock) Ellis, David Wiebe, grandchildren, Tayler and Nate Ellis. She is also survived by her parents, Garry and Doreen Schneider, brother Channing (Christie) Schneider, sister Celeste (Christian) Tremblay, and her mother-in-law Marie Wiebe, sisters-in-laws, Gwen Brown, Bev (Alvin) Wiebe, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Henry Wiebe, and her brother-in-law Al Brown.
