Julenda “Julie” Smith of Vulcan, beloved wife of the Late David N. Smith, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on July 17, 2019 at the age of 83 years.
Julie was born August 14, 1935 to Ole and Lina Tytlandsvik on the family farm near Maxim, SK. One of 14 siblings, she grew up there and took her schooling at Temple School and Weyburn Collegiate. Julie trained and worked as a nurse before taking on other occupations. She married Dave Smith in 1957 and together they raised four daughters. The family moved to the County of Vulcan in 1973. Julie was known for her endless energy, always on the go. She was fearless and she put her all into everything she did. Julie enjoyed her family and being involved in activities with her girls and grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time baking, sewing, camping, gardening and helping out in the community.
Survived by her four daughters Dawn, Doneva (Richard), Danielle, Danette, Grandchildren Matthew and Nicole, Great Grandchildren Malik, Braven and Presley, her brother Walter and sister Stella and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Family service will be held at a later date.
