Norman, “Betty” Elizabeth passed away suddenly in Lomond, Alberta on July 11, 2018 at the age of 75 years.
Betty was born on August 27, 1942 to Rueben and Sarah Striemer in Carrot River, SK.
In 1982, Betty met Frank Tolsdorf from Travers and together they farmed for ten years. They retired in 1992 and moved into Lomond.
Betty enjoyed flower gardening, knitting and crocheting, creating many beautiful blankets, toques and scarves over the years. She also loved a good game of Crazy Eights!
Betty is survived by two children; Debra (Rich) Paterson, Shayne (Camille Waldo) Norman, three step children; Karleen (Manuel Rodriguez) Straat, Fred (Jackie), Ken (Donna), twelve grandchildren, one brother Harold Striemer, three sisters Leona Baldwin, Verna (Keith) Lees, Lori (Rick) Sincennes and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty was predeceased by her son Darcy Norman, parents Rueben and Sarah Striemer, husband Frank Tolsdorf, brothers Johnny and Elmer Striemer, sister Lynn Arrowsmith, brothers-in-law Lewis Gertzen, Harold Arrowsmith, Bob Smith and Len Baldwin and sister-in-law Vi Striemer.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lomond Community Church (205B – 2 Street South), Lomond with Rev. Gordon Cranch officiating. Interment Lomond Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, tributes may be made to Lomond Fire Department, Box 61, Lomond, AB T0L 1G0.
