THOMPSON, Robert Cameron “Bob” 1943 – 2018

Robert (Bob) Thompson

It is with great sorrow that we wish to inform you of the loss of Robert (Bob) Thompson. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife Donna of over 53 years; his two daughters Deanna (Rolf) and Marlyn (Gord); his four grandsons Ethan, Kyle, Jake and Sam; and his sister Annette (Norm) and family.

Bob was born to Bert and Lorine on June 10, 1943 in Russell, MB and passed away on May 22, 2018 at the Vulcan hospital after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

Although technically retired from the electrical trade in 2001, after 35 years, he continued to pull wire and make sparks fly until 2013. He enjoyed winters in Mesa, AZ with his wife Donna and looked forward to the golf courses opening shortly after their return in the Spring.

His many friends remember him as always willing to lend a hand, swap a story, share a laugh and a beer. Sometimes all at the same time. A stranger was only a friend he had not yet met.

We say farewell to a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend. We will forever hold you in our hearts.

A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 2 – 4 at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall Branch 21 located at 240 Sinclair Road Vulcan AB.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Families of Alberta for Conductive Education, Attn: Jane Fuller #1, 6125 – 12th Street SE Calgary, AB T2H 2K1 (in honor of great niece Emma Francis – Rhett’s Syndrome).

Donna, so very sad to hear the news. Condolences to you and your family.
Bob will always be remembered as “Bert” to me. Best Man at my wedding as was I at yours.
I remember many road trips around Binscarth, MB. Bert in his Plymouth and I in my Ford. It depended on the day which one of us was the fastest.
    So sad!
