Erwin Ray Dugdale passed away suddenly at his home near Vulcan, Alberta on May 6, 1992 at the age of 63 years.

He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Dorothea Dugdale and the loving father of four sons and their wives; Richard (Maureen) of Airdrie, Les (Lois) of Vulcan, Alan (Rhonda) of Langdon, Keith (Carrie) of Langdon, and a daughter Trish (Jeff) Vachon of Vulcan; 9 grandchildren: Chris, Kevin, Darcy, Ryan, Erin, Justin, Amanda, Evan and Jessica. He is also survived by two brothers; Ken (Betty) and Keith (Marge) of Russell, Ontario, eight sisters; Kaye (John) Lowe, Lois (Meredith) Rombough, a twin sister Erva (Jim) McVey, all of Russell, Ontario; Anne (Lloyd) Bailey of Ottawa, Ontario, Pat
(Harry) Johnson of Oakville, Ontario, Hilda (Bill) Atkinson, Dorothy (Roland) Barnes and Shirley (Bob) Savail all of Vancouver, B.C., a sister-in-law Barbara Dugdale of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews.

Erwin was predeceased by his parents Ida and Norman Dugdale and his brother Alvin Dugdale.

Erwin was born on March 14, 1929 at Russell, Ontario, where he attended school and worked on the family dairy farm. In 1947 he came out west to Manitoba on a harvest excursion and returned home later that fall. In 1948 he came out to the Vulcan area working for Robert S. Irwin. In the fall of 1951 he married Dorothea Flebotte. Erwin also worked for Gulf Oil on an exploration party between Waterton Lakes and Jasper. Erwin and Dorothy began farming in the Indus area near his brother Alvin in 1957. Then four years later they purchased farmland near Langdon. They continued to farm in that area until 1974, when they moved to the farm in the Vulcan area. Erwin continued to farm and raise cattle with his wife and children up until the time of his passing.

Funeral service was held Monday, May ll, 1992 at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel of Mountain View Cemetery and Funeral Home, 17th Avenue at Garden Road, Calgary, with Reverend Gil Arthur officiating.

Pallbearers were: Morley Miller, Gordon Potter, David Thomas, Mike Cochlan, Dick Hall and Gerald Randle.
