LENNOX, LEONA ANNA PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY DECEMBER 10, 1995 AT VULCAN, ALBERTA AT THE AGE OF 89 YEARS.
LEONA WAS BORN SEPTEMBER 4, 1906 AT CORWITH, IOWA. SHE CAME IN 1910 FIRST TO GRANUM AND THEN TO LOMOND WITH HER PARENTS PETER , ANNA AND SISTERS MARGARET AND BEULAH THIEL. LEONA ATTENDED MIDWAY SCHOOL.
SHE MARRIED GLEN FIELD IN 1927 AND THEY MOVED TO ARROWWOOD TO FARM. IN 1937 THEY MOVED TO CARSELAND TO OPERATED A GARAGE AND TRUCKING BUSINESS OF WHICH LEONA DROVE TRUCK HAULING MOSTLY GRAIN, COAL AND SOME LIVESTOCK. IN I946 SHE DIVORCED GLEN AND MOVED TO CALGARY WERE SHE WAS EMPLOYED BY ART’S CLEANERS UNTIL 1966. THE SAME YEAR SHE BEGAN WORKING FOR STORK DIAPER SERVICE, SEWING AND REPAIRING DIAPERS AT HOME UNTIL 1976. DURING THIS TIME SHE MET AND MARRIED HER SECOND HUSBAND BOB LENNOX. IN I974 SHE MOVED INTO A SENIOR’S COMPLEX, WHERE SHE WAS VERY ACTIVE HELPING WITH BINGO, SELLING, CALLING NUMBERS AND PREPARING FOOD. SHE MOVED TO THE PETER DAWSON LODGE IN VULCAN THIS PAST SUMMER AND TO THE VULCAN COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRE A SHORT TIME BEFORE HER PASSING.
LEONA IS SURVIVED BY TWO DAUGHTERS LEONA (SMOKEY) JONES OF LOMOND AND DOLLY (AL) LEWIS OF PRINCETON, B.C. TWO SONS ROBERT (JEAN) FIELD OF LOMOND AND JIM FIELD OF FLORIDA, SIXTEEN GRANDCHILDREN, THIRTY-FOUR GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, TWO GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, TWO SISTERS VIOLA McCARTHY AND HILDA THIEL BOTH OF VAUXHALL, NUMEROUS NIECES AND NEPHEWS.
SHE WAS PREDECEASED BY HER FIRST HUSBAND GLEN FIELD, SECOND HUSBAND BOB LENNOX, TWO SISTERS MARGARET SKRETTING AND BEULAH PERSON AND HER PARENTS.
FUNERAL SERVICE THURSDAY DECEMBER 14, 1995 AT 1:30 P.M. AT VULCAN UNITED CHURCH VVITH REV. DON WATT OFFICIATING.
