McINTYRE, CLINTON ROSS PASSED AWAY SUDDENLY AT VULCAN, ALBERTA ON JUNE 18, 1995 AT THE AGE OF 83 YEARS.

ROSS WAS BORN MARCH 4, 1912 AT REID HILL, ALBERTA. HE ATTENDED PROSPECT SLOPE, VULCAN HIGH SCHOOL AND CALGARY TECHNICAL SCHOOL, AND RETURNED TO FARM. IN 1941 HE WORKED WITH THE TOMLINSON CONSTRUCTION COMPANY THAT BUILT THE VULCAN AIR BASE. HE WORKED FOR THE SAME COMPANY AGAIN AT THE FORT SAINT JOHN AIRPORT IN 1943 AND MOVED TO DAWSON CREEK TO WORK WITH THE AMERICAN ARMY AS A PAYMASTER UNTIL 1944. HE RETURNED TO THE FARM HIS GRANDFATHER HOMESTEADED, AND IN 1952 ROSS AND MABEL PURCHASED A HOUSE IN VULCAN AND CONTINUED TO FARM FROM TOWN. HE RETIRED FROM FARMING IN 1974 AND CONTINUED RETURN TRIPS TO ARIZONA FOR THE NEXT ELEVEN WINTERS, FOR A TOTAL OF 13 WINTERS.

ROSS HAD A QUIET SENSE OF HUMOUR. ONE OF HIS TRICKS WHILE IN ARIZONA WAS TO TAKE ONE COLOUR OF ROCK FROM ONE FRONT YARD AND PLACE IT IN A YARD OF A DIFFERENT COLOUR, WHICH WOULD STIR A LITTLE COMMOTION IN THE PARK. HE LOVED FAMILY TIME, ESPECIALLY WITH THE GRANDCHILDREN. HE ENJOYED FISHING, HUNTING, SHUFFLE BOARD, PLAYING CRIB WITH FRIENDS AT THE DROP-IN-CENTRE IN VULCAN, READING, ESPECIALLY THE DAILY NEWSPAPER, WATCHING HOCKEY AND BASEBALL ON TELEVISION.

IN HIS YOUNGER YEARS HE CURLED IN MANY BONSPIELS AND ON THE MENS LEAGUE. HE WAS A LIFE MEMBER AND A PAST MASTER OF THE MASONIC LODGE #74 A.F & A.M, A LIFE MEMBER OF THE B.P.O. ELKS LODGE #I2I VULCAN, AS WELL AS A MEMBER OF THE ALBERTA WHEAT POOL.

BELOVED HUSBAND OF 62 YEARS OF MABEL, LOVING FATHER OF TWO DAUGHTERS SHIRLEY (TERRY) WHITE AND MYRNA (JIM) FLEMING, EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN, EIGHTEEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, A SISTER RETA (FRED) MENSINGER ALL OF VULCAN.

HE WAS PREDECEASED BY HIS FATHER PETER IN 1967, MOTHER MAY IN 1981 AND A SISTER EDNA IN 1924.

FUNERAL SERVICES THURSDAY JUNE 2, 1995 AT 2 P.M. AT VULCAN UNITED CHURCH WITH REV. BEVERLY HILL OFFICIATING.

INTERMENT VULCAN CEMETERY.

CASKET BEARERS: GRANDSONS; GREG FLEMING, MICHAEL WHITE, GLADE ROBERTS, GREAT GRANDSONS COLIN WRIGHT, WESLEY PETERSEN AND RYAN WHITE.
