DINGWALL, GEORGE ALEXANDER MUNROE PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT HIS HOME ON THE FARM, WEST OF VULCAN, ALBERTA ON OCTOBER 13, 1996 AT THE AGE OF 77 YEARS.

GEORGE WAS BORN ON THE FAMILY FARM WEST OF VULCAN JUNE 7, 1919 WHERE HE HAS LIVED AND WORKED ALL OF HIS LIFE. HE ATTENDED SCHOOL AT RICHMOND HILL SCHOOL HOUSE AND COMPLETED GRADE EIGHT. HE MARRIED HIS WIFE PATRICIA IN APRIL 1954 AT HIGH RIVER UNITED CHURCH. THEY CELEBRATED THEIR 42ND WEDDING ANNIVERSARY LAST YEAR. TOGETHER THEY BUILT THEIR HOME ON THE HOME QUARTER AND HAVE LIVED THERE SINCE.

GEORGE LOVED THE LAND AND LOVED THE PEACE AND SERENITY OF THE FARM. HE PRACTICED RECYCLING LONG BEFORE IT BECAME THE THING TO DO. HE WAS A SKILLED MECHANIC AND HANDY-MAN WHO COULD FIX JUST ABOUT ANYTHING. GEORGE LOVED ANIMALS AND COULD NOT STAND TO SEE ANYONE SUFFER. HE WAS A LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER AND BROTHER WHO COULD ALWAYS BE COUNTED ON TO LEND A HAND OR AN EAR. WE CAN REMEMBER HIM SAYING TAKE IT “ONE DAY AT A TIME” OR “WE’LL GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER BECAUSE A FAMILY IS A CIRCLE OF LOVE.” HE HAD A WONDERFUL SENSE OF HUMOUR AND WAS ALWAYS PLAYING JOKES. HE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM.

BELOVED HUSBAND OF PAT DINGWALL AND LOVING FATHER OF FOUR DAUGHTERS AND THEIR HUSBANDS DOUANNE (JACK) BROWN OF COQUITLAM, SHIRLEY (RANDY) BUEHLER OF OLDS, WENDY (RAYMOND) FORSHNER OF FORT ST. JAMES, B.C. AND GWEN (BRYON) BUEHLER OF RED DEER, NINE GRANDCHILDREN MICHELLE (CURT) SCHULTZ, PATTY BUEHLER, CHRISTIE BUEHLER AND RYAN (GEORGE) BUEHLER, ALL OF OLDS, BECKY AND BEN BROWN OF COQUITLAM, ANGELA OF LETHBRIDGE, SHANNON BUEHLER OF RED DEER AND MATHEW FORSHNER OF FORT ST. JAMES, B.C. THREE SISTERS REA DINGWALL OF VULCAN, GRACE DINGWALL OF BANFF AND ELIZABETH (JOHN) WILSON OF CHAMPION, A SISTER-IN-LAW MARY DINGWALL OF CALGARY, AND NUMEROUS NIECES AND COUSINS.

GEORGE WAS PREDECEASED BY A DAUGHTER SHARON, HIS PARENTS ROBERT AND TERESA AND A BROTHER GORDON.

FUNERAL SERVICE FRIDAY OCTOBER 18, 1996 AT 2 P.M. AT VULCAN UNITED CHURCH WITH REV. DON WATT OFFICIATING.

INTERMENT VULCAN CEMETERY.
