RUSHFELDT, VICTOR LARUE “VIC” PASSED AWAY AUGUST 24, 1996 AT LETHBRIDGE REGIONAL HOSPITAL AT THE AGE OF 68 YEARS, FOLLOWING A BRIEF BATTLE WITH CANCER.

VIC WAS BORN IN CORA RINEHART’S HOSPITAL IN VULCAN, ALBERTA ON DECEMBER 23, 1927. HE ATTENDED SCHOOL AT RED CROSS AND LATER VULCAN. FOLLOWING HIGH SCHOOL, HE ATTENDED OLDS AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE.

VIC HAD BEEN A MEMBER OF THE VULCAN LEGION, THE VULCAN MASONIC LODGE AND MILO CURLING CLUB, AS WELL AS A LIFE MEMBER OF THE B.P.O. ELKS LODGE, VULCAN. HE WAS AN ASSISTANT LEADER OF BERRYWATER 4-H BEEF CLUB FOR SEVERAL YEARS, ALWAYS LOOKING FORWARD TO THE SUMMER CAMPS AND CAMPOUTS.

VIC WAS HAPPIEST WHEN HE WAS IN THE AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS, FARMING, DOING CUSTOM WORK, OR WORKING IN HIS OWN TRUCKING BUSINESS FOR THE FARMERS. HE ALSO LOVED WATCHING HIS CHILDREN PARTICIPATING IN ALL THEIR VARIOUS ACTIVITIES.

BELOVED HUSBAND OF MRS. GLADYS RUSHFELDT, LOVING FATHER OF FOUR DAUGHTERS BRENDA (ALLEN) MUELLER OF FORT MCMURRAY, NORMA (MURRAY) McLEAN OF VULCAN, VALERIE (BOB) HOLM OF CHAMPION AND SHARON (TED) SERBEN OF EDMONTON, A SON LEIGHTON (PENNY) OF VULCAN, THIRTEEN GRANDCHILDREN, MATTHEW, THERESA RUSHFELDT, LAINE, BRAD, WES, JANELL MUELLER, SCOTT, MARTY AND KELLY McLEAN, JACKSON AND JENNIFER HOLM, JILLIAN AND CAITLIN SERBEN, HIS MOTHER VIOLA OF HIGH RIVER, 3 BROTHERS JOHN AND MABEL OF TEXAS, JOE AND OLIVE OF CROSSFIELD AND RON AND PAT OF CALGARY, 5 SISTERS EVELYN (FRANK) COLSON OF CALGARY, DONNA (ALLAN) MARTIN OF HIGH RIVER, DEANNA (CHRIS) NELSON OF ARROWWOOD, ARLENE SETTLE OF EDMONTON AND GWEN STARKE OF CALGARY.

VIC WAS PREDECEASED BY HIS FATHER EMANUEL AND A SISTER MARJORIE ROWLAND.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD THURSDAY, AUGUST 29, 1996 AT 2 P M AT VULCAN UNITED CHURCH WITH REV. DON WATT OFFICIATING.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, TRIBUTES IN VIC’S MEMORY BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE ALBERTA CANCER FOUNDATION OR THE CHARITY OF YOUR CHOICE.
