URDAL, JOSEPH LUTHER “JOE” FORMERLY OF ARMADA AND LOMOND, ALBERTA PASSED AWAY AUGUST 26, 1996 AT VULCAN, ALBERTA AT THE AGE OF 81 YEARS.
JOE WAS BORN JANUARY 6, 1915 AT BERNETTA, ALBERTA, HE ATTENDED SCHOOL AT ARMADA AND BERNETTA AND CONTINUED HIS EDUCATION AT OLDS COLLEGE. FARMING WAS JOE’S LIFE AND HE CONTINUED TO FARM IN THE AREA UNTIL MOVING TO LOMOND IN 1979. IN 1994 JOE MOVED TO CARMANGAY AND HAS RESIDED AT THE LITTLE BOW AUXILIARY HOSPITAL SINCE.
JOE WAS A MEMBER OF THE INTERNATIONAL ORDER OF ODDFELLOWS, THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION AND CONTINUED MEMBERSHIP IN THE BIG 4 GRAZING ASSOCIATION THAT HIS FATHER WAS A FOUNDING MEMBER OF. HE PURCHASED A NEW WILLIES JEEP IN 1946, WHICH JOE USED AROUND THE FARM FOR EVERYTHING AND DURING A SEVERE SNOW STORM IN 1951, HE USED HIS JEEP TO FIND TWO MISSING PERSONS.
JOE ENJOYED PLAYING CARDS, HIS FORD TRUCKS, JOHN DEERE TRACTORS AND HEREFORD CATTLE.
BELOVED BROTHER OF TWO SISTERS MOLLY (HARVEY) HOWELL AND MARY ROSTAD ALL OF CALGARY.
HE WAS PREDECEASED BY HIS FATHER JOHN IN 1951, MOTHER HANNA IN 1975, THREE SISTERS BETSY ANDERSON, ADELINE BUCHANAN AND THELMA RODGERS, TWO BROTHERS LLOYD AND JACK.
SERVICE SATURDAY AUGUST 31, 1996 AT 1 P.M. VULCAN UNITED CHURCH WITH REV. DON WATT OFFICIATING.
