STEPHEN, ROBERT “BOB” GEORGE , PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY, AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS, AT THE FOOTHILLS HOSPITAL , CALGARY, ALBERTA ON SATURDAY, MAY 11, 1996 AT THE AGE OF 70 YEARS.

BOB AND HIS TWIN BROTHER WERE BORN APRIL 14, 1926 AT EATONIA, SASKATCHEWAN. AT THE TENDER AGE OF THIRTEEN YEARS, HE LEFT HOME TO WORK ON FARMS IN NORTHERN ALBERTA, LATER WORKED IN A SMELTER MINE AT KIMBERLEY, B.C. AND THEN AT THE CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILROAD IN LETHBRIDGE. IN THE SPRING OF 1946 HE WORKED FOR C.S. NOBLE FARMS IN NOBLEFORD. IN 1967 BOB STARTED A FERTILIZER BUSINESS IN NOBLEFORD NAMED “SHUR-CROP SOIL SERVICE LTD”. IN 1968 HE MOVED THE BUSINESS TO VULCAN AND A YEAR LATER HE GOT THE DEALERSHIPS FOR MORRIS RODWEEDER, NOBLE BLADES AND BUTLER BINS AND BUILDINGS. IN 1972, HE TOOK A DEALERSHIP WITH JOHN DEERE WHICH HE OPERATED UNTIL RETIRING IN 1992.

BOB WAS A LONG STANDING MEMBER OF THE LETHBRIDGE SHRINE CLUB AND THE B.P.O. ELKS LODGE, A TWENTY-EIGHT YEAR MEMBER OF THE VULCAN LIONS CLUB AND A THIRTY-SIX YEAR MEMBER OF THE MASONIC LODGE IN BOTH LETHBRIDGE AND CALGARY.

BOB HAS CONTINUED TO RESIDE IN VULCAN AND ENJOYED HIS VISITS WITH FRIENDS AT THE COFFEE SHOP.

BELOVED HUSBAND AND PARTNER OF MRS. MARJORIE STEPHEN OF VULCAN, LOVING FATHER OF A DAUGHTER JANE AND HER HUSBAND RICHARD HUIJSMANS OF CALGARY, A SON WILLIAM AND WIFE DENISE STEPHEN OF LETHBRIDGE, A DAUGHTER JANET STEPHEN OF CALGARY, A STEP- DAUGHTER SYLVIA HUNTER OF CALGARY, FOUR GRANDCHILDREN MARIANNE AND MATHEW HUIJSMANS AND SARAH AND OLIVIA STEPHEN, A TWIN BROTHER HARRY AND WIFE WILMA STEPHEN OF DUNCAN,B.C, BROTHER NELSON AND WIFE MARIE OF WHITE ROCK, BROTHER CHARLES AND WIFE ISABEL OF VANCOUVER, TWO SISTERS NANCY CYR OF OSOYOOS AND THELMA COLE OF WINNIPEG, A SISTER-IN-LAW CONNIE STEPHEN OF GRANDE PRAIRIE, MANY NIECES AND NEPHEWS.

BOB WAS PREDECEASED BY HIS PARENTS ALEX AND LIZZIE STEPHEN, A BROTHER SANDY, SISTER ISABEL, AND FIRST WIFE MAXINE(McCLAIN).

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE WILL BE HELD THURSDAY MAY 16, 1996 AT 2 P.M. AT THE VULCAN LEGION HALL, WITH TONY PERRY OFFICIATING.
