With heavy hearts, the family of Mel Froom announce his passing on November 9, 2014 at the age of 70 years.
Mel was in the agriculture business for over 30 years, as a parts person in Saskatchewan and Alberta with both Case , Case IH and Deer-Country. He enjoyed volunteering for the elderly, especially driving them to their appointments. Mel had many hobbies but the one he enjoyed the most was his wood working.
Mel is survived by his loving wife Marilyn of 47 years, and their two boys, Troy (Rachel, Tyler, Kyle and Quinton) of Calgary, Trent (Tammy, Abbie, Iain and Courtney) of Lethbridge. He also has 2 brothers, Ron and Calvin (Doreen) and 2 sisters, Darlene and Lorraine (Henery) as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his Dad (Heyman), Mom (Clauda), sister (Beulah), brother-in law (Gus) and sister-in law (Joy).
As per Mel’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service at this time.

Mel was a great guy and a pleasure to deal with in his role of partsman! He really knew his product and his business, and was always ready and willing to help his clients in any way he could! Always cheerful and friendly, you could count on Mel to get you back in the field quickly when you had a mechanical breakdown. He will be missed!

Our deepest condolences to you all on the passing of Mel. It’s hard to believe it has been 25 years since I started working for him through high school work experience. He was a great friend, boss, mentor and leader and taught me so much. We shared so many stories, memories and laughs over the years working together and I still miss our conversations. I always looked forward to coffee time with him and the friends and neighbours that stopped in. He will be greatly missed.
