Agnes Marie Hall passed away November 29, 2006 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 89 years.
Agnes was born July 12, 1917 at Champion, Alberta to Peter and Edna Holm. She attended Champion School for Grades 1-12. In 1938 Agnes moved to Calgary and attended Tech where she studied Dressmaking and Design. She came back to Champion and worked as a seamstress. On November 9, 1940 Agnes married Arthur Hall at her parents’ house at Champion. They lived and farmed in the Stavely district until Art’s passing in 1978 except for a period of time from 1968 to 1973 when they moved to Cranbrook. Agnes moved to Champion in 1981 and then moved into the Peter Dawson Lodge at Vulcan in 2004.
Agnes’ home was open to anyone and visitors were always welcome. She was an Honorary Member of the Order of the Royal Purple Lodge No. 99 Stavely. Agnes was very active in the community and was also a member of the Champion Congregational Church and the Happy Gang at Carmangay.
Loving mother of two daughters Donna (William) Currie of Sorrento, BC, Renie (Ken) Porter of Elkford, BC, a son Glen (Kelly) of Stavely, eight grandchildren, five great granchildren, a brother Ted (Doreen) Holm of Champion, a sister Helen Sanderson of Vulcan and numerous nieces and nephews.
Agnes was predeceased by her parents, her son Jim in 1973 and her husband Arthur in 1978.
Celebration of Life service Friday, December 1, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Champion Congregational Church at Champion with Pastor Wayne Lee officiating.
Honorary bearers Lee Currie, Julie Gulka, Bill Currie, Marie Hamilton, Lynda Porter, Brady Hall, Cody Hall and Angelina Hall.
