Patrick John “Pat” Lewis formerly of Vulcan, Alberta passed away October 10, 2006 at Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 56 years.
Pat was born January 23, 1950 at Vulcan, Alberta to Milton and Joan Lewis. He attended Travers and Vulcan schools. Pat worked for the County on road construction for a season after finishing school. He also worked for Cody Whiteside as a hired hand and at Vulcan Seed Cleaning Plant with his father. Pat was in a severe car accident in 1973 and was unable to work after that. He was diagnosed with cancer in May, 2006 and moved to Red Deer to stay with his sister Anne.
Pat was a man of few words but had a smile for everyone. He loved to help people in need if he could. Pat enjoyed cattle round ups with his dad and Don Mitchell and also enjoyed spending time with his coffee buddies and family. His very best friend was his brother Stan. Pat’s greatest pleasure was driving, especially his 1963 Ford Galaxy 500.
Pat is survived by his sisters Sheila (Eddie) Nolte of Vulcan, Anne (Harry) Gwinner of Red Deer and Olive (Butch) Gorzitza of Barons, brother Stan (Carmel) Lewis of Milo, numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was predeceased by his mother in 1992, his father in 2001 and a brother in 1946.
A Celebration of Pat’s Life funeral service was held Monday, October 16, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at the Vulcan United Church with Sue MacDonald D.M. officiating.
Casket bearers were Robert Lewis, Ron Gorzitza, Gord Gorzitza, Chris Gorzitza, Darcy Nolte and Alan Gorzitza.
Internment Vulcan Cemetery.
