CAMPBELL, Albert William “Bill”  1913 – 2006

Albert William “Bill” Campbell, formerly of Mossleigh, Alberta passed away June 1, 2006 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 93 years.

Bill was born March 16, 1913 at Gleichen, Alberta to Ernie and Christina Campbell. He attended Sunset Valley and Arrowwood schools and helped out on the family farm at Mossleigh. In 1936 Bill bought his own land and began farming. He married Carolyn Hay in 1940. They continued to farm both livestock and grain and raise their family.

Bill was an avid curler and loved sports. He worked with junior baseball and hockey for many years. Bill was a member the local curling club, Lions Club and was on the Board of Directors for the Mossleigh Rural Electrification Association. He was also quite active in 4H as a leader for a short time with his children.

Beloved husband of Carolyn of Vulcan, loving father of a daughter Dora (Gordon) Will of Standard, three sons Barry (Helen) of Vulcan, John (Norien) of Mossleigh and David of Vulcan, six grandchildren, Ryan Will Edmonton, Michael Will of Standard and Erin Will of Edmonton, Christine (Dallas) Andres and their son Adam of Calgary, Craig (Tanya) Campbell their children Joel and Owen of Vulcan and Jeffrey of Mossleigh, numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, two sisters May (Dick) Hurl and Grace (Hank) Hughes.

Funeral service Tuesday June 6, 2006 at Vulcan United Church at 1:30 p.m. with Sue MacDonald D.M. officiating.

Casket bearers (grandchildren), Jeffrey Campbell, Christine Andres, Craig Campbell, Ryan Will, Michael Will and Erin Will.

Internment Vulcan Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, tributes in Bill’s memory can be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta 1825 Park Rd. S.E. Calgary T2G 3Y6 or Palliative Care Unit Box 299 Vulcan T0L 2B0.
