Margo Ann Gair 1945 – 2005.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Margo Ann Gair, beloved wife of Gary Gair, on September 15, 2005 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre.
Margo was born July 23, 1945 in Vulcan and received her education there as well. She then briefly worked in Calgary before moving back to Vulcan and marrying Don Houlton in 1965.
In 1966 and 1968 respectively Tracy and Mark were born. During this time, Margo loved to golf, curl and ski. She was one of the original founding members of the first Kinette Club in Vulcan and was employed for many years at the Vulcan Advocate and Vulcan High School.
In 1986 Margo moved to Banff and began her career in the Hotel Catering business working at the Banff Park Lodge. In 1989, Margo moved to Kelowna, B.C and worked at the Capri Hotel until her return to Vulcan in 1995. The same year she married Gary Gair and welcomed her two stepsons, Randy and Lorne Gair into her family. Margo and Gary loved to go camping and go on long motorcycle trips.
Margo became a volunteer on the Library Board and continued to enjoy all of her hobbies including crafting, gardening and reading, as well as trying to beat her buddies at “Bumps”. One of her greatest joys was spending cherished time with her granddaughters Lauren and Kayla.
Margo was predeceased by her parents Clay and Geraldine Snow.
Besides her husband Gary, Margo is remembered with love by her children Mark Houlton and Tracy (Derrick) McGongan, two grandchildren Lauren and Kayla, a sister Sandra (Murray) Ohlheiser, stepsons Randy (Lori) Gair, Lorne Gair, stepfather Merle Sande, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial service Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at the Vulcan United Church with Sue MacDonald D.M. officiating.
Inurnment Vulcan Cemetery Columbarium.
