Victor Henry “Vic” Lebsack, of Champion, Alberta, beloved husband of Esther, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 28, 2004 at the age of 81 years.

Vic was born March 13, 1923 on a farm east of Champion, the eldest of six children, to Conrad and Katherine Lebsack. He attended Harmony School and Champion School for grades eleven and twelve. He was raised on the family farm where he worked with his father and brothers. In 1942 Vic joined the Royal Canadian Air Force which took him from Claresholm, Alberta to St. Thomas, Ontario and Chatam, New Brunswick. Following his honorable discharge in 1946, he returned to Champion. In 1945 he met Esther Ufflleman from Beiseker and they were married on June 21, 1947 at the Beiseker Evangelical Church.  Together they began their union on the old McNoughton farm  east of Champion. Vic ran a mixed farming operation for several years until semi-retiring in 2000. Even though Brian took over the farming operation, Vic was still actively involved.

Vic was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He cherished each and everyone of his family members and took pride in all of their accomplishments. He especially loved his visits from his grandchildren. Being a man with a wonderful sense of humor, Vic enlightened many a persons day. He found enjoyment in the simple things in life and made sure his fellow man felt them also. He was always willing and able to lend a helping hand wherever necessary. Vic was dedicated to his faith and his involvement with the Evangelical Missionary Church.

Beloved husband of Esther of Champion, loving father of two daughters Brenda (Don) Ully of High River, Bev (Roger) Dubé of Houston, Texas, son Brian of Champion, six grandsons Jason & Connie, Ryan & Dana all of Calgary, Michael of High River, Brandon, Taren & Valerie all of Calgary, Cameron of Houston, Texas, a sister Doris (Ron) Adler of Aberdeen, South Dakota, two brothers Elmer Lebsack of Kelowna, Edward (Joan) Lebsack of Lethbridge, numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many special friends he loved dearly.

Vic was predeceased by his brother Irwin Lebsack, sister Helen Gray and his parents.

Funeral Service Friday April 2, 2004 at 1:30 P.M. at the Vulcan Evangelical Missionary Church with Pastor Frank Harris officiating.

Honorary bearers Lawrence Palsoky, Gordon Carlson, Henry Friesen, Nick Andruckow, Don Grinde and Len Cowitz.

Casket bearers grandsons Jason Ully, Ryan Ully, Michael Ully, Brandon Dubé, Taren Dubé  and Cameron Dubé.

Internment Champion Cemetery.
