Robert Wesley Alfred “Bob” Irwin was called home to his Lord and Saviour March 12, 2004 at Lethbridge, Alberta at the age of 76 Years.

Beloved husband of Isabell of Barons, Alberta, loving father of four daughters Sandra (Del) Erickson of Columbia, South Carolina, Roxy Binns of Thompson, Manitoba, Debbie (Robert C.) Martin of Wheatley, Ontario and Diane (Robert) Proper of Vanastra, Ontario, four sons Robert (Geanine) Irwin of Cambridge, Ontario, Jeffery (Tammy) Irwin of Vulcan, Robert (Marion) Wright of Port Hardy, B.C, and Allen (Trudy) Wright of London, Ontario, ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents and a sister-in-law May McCullough.

Bob was born October 29, 1927 at Thornhill York County, Ontario only child of Robert Thomas and Addie Azile Irwin. He was raised on the family farm and worked with his father as an electrician, then with the Province of Ontario as a surveyor. Bob began working at Scott Memorial Hospital training on the job as a x-ray technician until enlisting in the Royal Canadian Air Force.   Following his discharge, Bob began work with Incel Coach Co. as a carpenter, welder and electrician. He then worked for Dominion Road Machinery working on road graders. Bob attended Conasona College in Kitchener and trained as an Industrial Design Technician with post graduate work in Air Frame Schematics and Hydraulics. While working for Douglass Associates he designed and installed snow making equipment in Canada, the United States and Europe a job he truly loved doing.  Because of health problems, Bob’s was not able to continue doing this job so he gave it up. In 1979 he started his own hotshot delivery service covering Canada and the United States until retiring in 1995 and moving to Champion, Alberta to join his wife and her sister May McCullough.  They moved to Barons on January 23, 2004.

Bob enjoyed working, loved his family, always stayed in touch and would help out where he could.  He loved children and while living near London, Bob would drive to poor town, pick up young children, take them to Sunday school and Church and return them home. It gave him satisfaction to plant the seed of the Holy Spirit in children who would otherwise not have that enjoyment or opportunity.
