Bernice Leslie, formerly of Mossleigh, passed away July12, 2012 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 89 years.
Bernice was born in Bassano, AB, one of 6 girls and 2 boys, to Fred and Tillie Bertschy. Bernice grew up in Southern Alberta and went to school in Mossleigh. She met Hugh Leslie in the fall of 1941 and they married in October of the following year at Knox United Church in Calgary. Bernice and Hugh lived their lives in Mossleigh.
Loving mother of a daughter Judy Leslie of Ventura, California, a son Doug Leslie of Carseland and his close friend Veronica Petri of Calgary, grandson Chad Leslie of Ventura, California, one brother Fred (Nancy) Bertschy of Milo, two sisters Marie Culp and Irene Oberholtzer of Arrowwood, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bernice was predeceased by her loving husband Hugh “Sonny” in 2002, sisters Meta (Ed) Robinson, Louise (Tom) Barr and Violet (Bill) Armstrong, brother-in-law Ralph Oberholtzer, and her parents.
Funeral service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Chapel, 17th Avenue at Garden Rd. S.E. Calgary Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. with Sue MacDonald, D.M. officiating. Private Family Interment Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Calgary.
Casket bearers Steve, Louis & Fred Bertschy, Bob Barr, Charles Oberholtzer and Wayne Robinson and Honorary bearers Randy Bertschy and Kurt Petri.
