Daniel “Danny” Carl Tiegen of Milo, Alberta passed away Monday, April 11, 2005 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 68 years.
Danny was born August 29,1936 at Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to Oscar and Peggy Tiegen. The family moved to the Milo area in 1945 and he attended Milo School until the age of 15. Danny started working in road construction in the summer and did commercial fishing in the winter.
Danny married Carol Peterson on June 6, 1959. He operated Con Peterson’s trucking company from1960 to 1969. They then bought the Peterson homestead and began farming.
Danny enjoyed hunting, curling, camping and fishing. He was an honorary member of the Milo Curling Club.
Beloved husband of Carol of Milo, loving father of two daughters Theresa (Bob) Hatt of New Minas, Nova Scotia, Patty Tiegen of Calgary, a son Terry Tiegen of Milo, mother-in-law Lil Peterson of Vulcan, daughter-in-law Laura (Randy) Schlaht of Lomond, eight grandchildren Brian and Christopher Hatt of New Minas, Nova Scotia, Rachelle Tiegen of Lomond, Amber Tiegen of Lethbridge, Jason, Dereck and Randy Tiegen all of Milo, Tessa Tiegen of Claresholm, god daughter Debbie Lebsack of Lethbridge, brother-in-law Barry (Sheila) Peterson of Calgary, sister-in-law Dene Peterson of Milo and numerous nieces and nephews.
Danny was predeceased by his son Larry in 1993, two brothers Kelly and Lawrence, father-in-law Con Peterson, brother-in-law Jim Peterson, godson Allan Auestad and his parents.
Funeral service Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Milo Community Hall, Milo, Alberta with Rev. Ed Summers officiating.

Casket bearers David Nelson, Alvin Shield, Leroy Peterson, Ralph Auestad, Ed Posein and Steve Hermann.
Internment O’ Perfect Peace Cemetery, Milo, Alberta.
