CRABB, Emelia Juanita  1912 – 2008

Crabb, Emelia Juanita, beloved wife of the late Bruce Crabb, passed away December 10, 2008 at Little Bow Auxiliary Hospital at Carmangay at the age of 95 years.

Juanita was born at Kamloops, BC on December 29, 1912, the second child of Ingmar and Emelia Skatrud. The family moved to the Reid Hill District when Juanita was three years old. She attended Prospect Slope School and took one year at the Claresholm College in 1929.   Juanita met Bruce Crabb at a dance in 1932 and they were married on August 10, 1934.  They farmed in the Milo area many years and in 1969 they retired and moved into Milo. Juanita moved into the Peter Dawson Lodge at Vulcan in 1994 and she resided there until this past summer when she moved to Carmangay.

Juanita always cared about others and enjoyed visiting and helping out her friends and neighbors.  She also took a keen interest in the Milo community and was an active member of the Milo Drop-in Centre.  Juanita was a life member of the Royal Purple

Juanita is survived by her daughters Donna Reimer of Didsbury and Renie (Ron) Chambers of Lomond, five grand children, seven great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Juanita was predeceased by her husband Bruce, her parents, her step father Jack Lucas and her brothers and sisters.

Funeral Service Saturday December 13, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Vulcan United Church with Dennis Nowoselsky officiating.

Casket bearers Sonny Vannatta, Tim Thompson, Robyn Reimer, Dan Chambers, Barry Chambers and Rhys Chambers.

Interment Vulcan Cemetery.
