Karman Marie Gooch of Arrowwood, Alberta passed away at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary, Alberta December 6, 2008 at the age of 23 years.
Karman was born May 20, 1985 at Vulcan, Alberta to Gordon and Terri Gooch. From the moment she was born, she became a shining light and inspiration to everyone. Karman could brighten the room with her smile and make all those around her feel good. Her first heart surgery took place at four months and she never looked back. She fought to bounce back from the next six surgeries and prove all the doctors wrong. Karman started school at the age of three with her much loved aide Ruthann. She graduated from grade 12 in 2004 and went onto graduate from the Institute of Children’s Literature, getting her diploma on February 25, 2008. Karman wrote several short stories and was in the process of getting her first book published.
Karman had several hobbies which included fishing, playing pool, listening to music, watching TV and movies and making cards. One of her favorite things to do was follow the ledgen Car racing circuit. Karman traveled to Calgary, Medicine Hat and Kalispel to watch her fave drivers. She also loved the Calgary Flames and never missed watching a game.
Karman was a very special person, She never thought of herself as disabled or handicapped and did not want or demand special attention. Karman had a heart of gold and she touched everyone she met.
Beloved daughter of Gordon and Terri, sister of Sarah (Marc) Coutu, granddaughter to Laura Jane Gooch and Bill Phillips, loving niece of Elaine (Wes), Anita (Mike), Yvonne (Carl), Kim (Lloyd), Linda (Dale), Val (Jerry), her beloved niece Veronica Coutu and numerous cousins.
She was predeceased by her grandfather Harry Gooch, her grandmother Charlotte Phillips and her great grandparents Orval (Fay) Phillips.
Celebration of Life Service at Arrowwood Community Hall Friday December 12, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Vaughn Manson officiating.
Casket bearers Tyler Gooch, Cory Gooch, Jason Gooch, Mark Palmer, Dallas Horvath and Ricky Miller.
Interment Arrowwood Cemetery.
