Robert Nelson Hill (September 5, 1914 – April 23, 2012)
Robert (Bob) Hill, beloved husband of the late Margaret Hill, of Vulcan passed away at Vulcan Hospital on April 23, 2012 at the age of 97 years.
Bob will be dearly missed by his 5 children: Duane (Rita) Hill, Gary (Doreen) Hill; Joyce Hegland; Linda (Tom) Sawyer; and Marjorie Van Camp (Wade Russell). He leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters-in-law, Helen Hill and Dorrie Asplund.
Bob, the sixth child of Nile and Ada Hill, was born on a farm near Chester, Montana on Sept.5, 1914. He was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret in 2006, all of his siblings, son-in-law David Hegland and daughter-in-law Yvonne Hill.
Following Grade 10, Dad began has a hired hand for Fred Hutchings at the Marquis Farm near Nobleford. It was there that he met Mom whom he married on Oct.3, 1938. They celebrated their 67th anniversary prior to Mom’s passing on March 26, 2006.
Mom and Dad mixed farmed from 1939 to 1969 north of Vulcan where Duane continues to farm. In 1967, they moved to town where Dad continued to live until Boxing Day 2011, when he broke his hip.
Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 2 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, 240 Sinclair Road, Vulcan, officiated by Rev. Gordon Cranch.
Inurement at Archmount Cemetery, Lethbridge, at later date.

Hello Duane, Gary, Joyce, Linda, and Marjorie-Allen and I are also in Hong Kong for 1 year and were saddened to hear about your Dad passing away. I don’t think I ever remember seeing your Dad without a smile on his face. I have fond memories of visiting your family on the farm when we were all little kids. Hope you are all doing well. Hi Everyone! Was so sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. I guess I just thought that Uncle Bob would be the brother to live forever! I bet they are all having one great reunion right now,husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, mom and dad, all feeling young and spry with their aches and pains gone!
