In the days that pass after someone is taken too soon, we never forget them.
I find myself looking at photos and reminding myself of the sound of his laughter and how he would look so serious when he was sitting at the kitchen table chatting with other fellow farmers about this season and what its looking like. Funny how he and big Stevie used to make me laugh so hard I could barely breathe. I used to sit up behind his seat in the tractor and fall asleep on the hot summer days when I was there during the summer. He’d let me sit on his lap and drive. Certainly not what I’m doing with my kids in this day and age, in the city. But those are great memories.
If you knew him, you knew hew was ‘Bunty’.
And he was the best grandpa anyone could have!

Lavonda, Kim, Kera, Cole – our deepest sympathy on the tragic and senseless loss of your father and grandfather. We will really miss our neighbour and his big smile. Bunty would always lend Mike a helping hand and vice versa. Dave will also miss greeting Him as they met on the road daily.
Sincerely, Mike, Dave and Edna Clark

Our deepest sympathies to your family LaVonda. I remember staying at the farm and how hospitable your father was and how much fun we had ripping apart the area to make way for your first salon. Your memories will always be there.

    To Lavonda and family,
I am so sorry that I am unable to come up to Otto’s memorial on Sunday. I will come up and give you a big hug later.
I will always remember Otto for the “twinkle in his eye” when he was trying to tease me. Otto told me a story that when he was 24 years old he couldn’t get anyone to insure him. Someone told him to go see Glen Gibb he will help you. Otto said that dad did get him insurance and he has been here all these years since because of that.
I hope our dads are enjoying each other’s company and remembering some of the good times they shared.
    Love Judie

I don’t even know what to say to you!! Lavonda, you were a very little girl with VERY big eyes the last time I saw you! I am Bob Gerding’s eldest daughter and I remember running up to see “Bunty & Gretta” when they used to farm up on the hill beside our farm. Then I grew up and went away but as an adult I became friends with your Dad and enjoyed talking and sharing a drink with him in the Legion! He always treated me like I was gold and I pray that God in Heaven treat him the same way. I hope he will also wipe away the terror and fear from your hearts. Good Friends are hard to find and your Dad was amongst the best.
