BECKNER, Ray
Ray was born in Calgary, Alberta December 5, 1918, he died November 17, 2011 at Bow Island Nursing Home at the age of 92 years. Ray was a grain buyer for United Grain Growers for close to 30 years, working in country elevators throughout Southern Alberta. He married Elfriede “Freda” in 1975 and they moved to Bow Island in 1980, where Ray has continued to reside since.

He is survived by a daughter Butch (Jim) Potter, stepchildren Christel (Frank) Carpenter, Heike Unser Walter (Carol) Krysiak, a sister Doris McLean, numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray was predeceased by his first wife Edith in 1973 and second wife Frieda in 2010.

Frieda and Ray were laid to rest together at a Graveside service Thursday, November 24, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Vulcan Cemetery.
