Harry Stoddard passed away February 1, 2011 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband for 60 years to Laura of Vulcan, loving father of three sons Bruce (Joyce), David, Mark (Rhonda), five grandchildren Angela, Lyndsey, Brett, his daughter Cordelia, Melissa and Stephanie (Travis Nickel), their son Hunter, a sister Bev (Harry) Wasylyk,a brother-in-law James (Helen) Riddell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harry was predeceased by his parents Fred and Delia, six brothers and five sisters.
Harry was born to Fred and Delia Stoddard in Cookshire, Quebec on April 21, 1924. At the age of 15 he joined the Royal Rifles then transferred to the Royal Canadian Army Service Corp. and went overseas in 1943 where he remained until the end of the war. Harry returned home and began working for Southern Canada Power Company. Harry and Laura were married in Calgary where he worked for Farm Electric Service. They moved to Vulcan in 1955 where he served as the District Manager for Calgary Power and continued to reside there until his passing.
Funeral Service Monday February 7, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Vulcan United Church with Sue MacDonald DM officiating.
