Wagenvoort, Pieter Gerardus “Gerry”, of Calgary, beloved husband of Jenny Wagenvoort (nee Pathuis), passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Extendicare on January 16, 2017 at the age of 86 years old. He died after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born in Zeist, Netherlands on July 16, 1930, Gerry was married on February 26, 1958 in Zeist to his loving wife Jenny. Together they emigrated from Holland in 1958, and embraced the Canadian life, learning a new language and raising three children. Gerry enjoyed a life-long love of painting, choir and sports (soccer and running). He was a proud member of the Calgary Christian Male Choir.
He is lovingly remembered as father to Peter “Perry” Wagenvoort (Calgary), Katherine (Steve) Kuyltjes (Calgary), and Trevor (Paulette) Wagenvoort (Champion); and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Willem Wagenvoort and Henk Wagenvoort, and his sister Greta Dijs. Gerry was predeceased by his parents, Pieter G. Wagenvoort and Gijsje Groenewoud, and his brothers Gijs Wagenvoort and Emile Wagenvoort.
Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 27, 2017 at 2 pm at Emmanuel Christian Reform Church, 3020 51 Street SW, Calgary, AB, with Pastor Case Vink officiating. Inurnment Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.

We are so sorry to hear of Gerard’s passing. Gerard was in Extendicare with Mom and we got to know him well. They are all part of one big family in that wing! Thinking of you and wishing you moments of peace and comfort as you remember all the wonderful, special times.
