SPAETH, Betty Jane    1947 – 2018

Spaeth, Betty Jane, of Vulcan, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on September 5, 2018 at the age of 70 years.

Betty was born in Calgary on December 10, 1947 to Howard and Mae Spaeth. She attended school in Vulcan, then to Calgary in January of 1969, where she graduated from Jacobson’s Beauty School. In 1970, she worked at Fairmont, B.C., then returned to Vulcan to operate her own shop “Betty’s Beauty Shop” on Main Street, from 1973 to 1981. Betty continued to live in Vulcan until her passing.

Betty is survived by her sister Lynn Middleton and sister-in-law Charlene Spaeth both of Vulcan, Nieces and nephews – Gus (Brenda) Middleton of Vulcan, Mark (Hong) Middleton of Lethbridge, Krista Christensen (Lance) of Radium, B.C, Leon (Carla) Spaeth of Lethbridge and Jana (Steve) Bidwell of Nelson, B.C and numerous great nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her parents Howard and Mae Spaeth, brother Jim Spaeth and brother-in-law Blain Middleton.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Central Church of Christ, Pastor David Sarsons officiating. Interment Vulcan Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, any tributes in Betty’s memory can be made to theVulcan Hospital Long Term Care Unit, Box 299, Vulcan, AB T0L 2B0.

    I was late getting this sad news but wanted to send condolences and comfort your way. I will, of course, be calling in the time ahead, Auntie Lynn. Betty was always very good and patient with me on occasions where we were together; never making me feel like an annoying little kids.
