REIMER, Margaret (Enns) 1934 – 2017

Margaret Enns Reimer 1934 – 2017

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our mother, Margaret Enns Reimer. After 3 1/2 year struggle with the after effects of a stroke, she went peacefully with her family around her. She was surrounded by what she deemed most important: family and love.

Margaret changed the world. She was a wife of 56 years, a mother to 4, grandmother to 7 , great-grandmother to 6. She loved traveling. She always had itchy feet. She loved grapes and she enjoyed watching the women in her family in the kitchen.

She was born and raised in Manitoba. She grew up on the prairies in the 1930’s and 40’s, when times were unimaginably hard. But she was always kind and gentle. Except for one time I can remember that involved Ted, an orange and the neighbors’ roof. She raised her family while following the love of her life across the prairies to finally make a permanent home in Alberta.

Margaret is survived by her children – Sandy (Bill) Turley, Lynne (Bryan) Tonita, Andy (Roni) Reimer and Ted (Teresa) Reimer, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two sisters – Martha McLeod and Mary Reimer-Wushke. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Helen Enns and her beloved husband Abe Reimer.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 11:30 am at Central Church of Christ, Pastor David Sarsons officiating. Interment Strathmore Cemetery.

It didn’t matter what you did to her or anyone else, who you were- she was all about forgiveness. In lieu of flowers, please honor her lifelong belief: Pick up the phone and forgive that certain someone. Peace be with you.

Aunt Margaret will always be with us. I loved her singing, and she really could play that guitar. My dad, mom and her two brothers, Abe and Irvin would sing for hours; all the hymns they remembered and those they wrote. Gods blessings to all.

Sandy, Lynn, Andy & Ted (& families) So sad about Aunty Margaret’s passing. I totally believe she is with Uncle Abe and with my Dad. I will remember the Aunty of my youth, the caring sweet soul with a happy, humorous heart. Until we meet again Aunty. With love, Richard & Marylin
