LEBSACK, Malita Mary (Marie) 1932 – 2014

Malita Mary (Marie) Lebsack
Jan.26, 1932 – Nov.21, 2014

Lebsack, Malita (formerly of Vulcan), was called home to her Lord and Saviour on November 21, 2014 at the age of 82 years. She passed away peacefully at Serenity Acres, Chase, B.C.

Malita was born to Gottleib and Olga Schattle in Woolchester, AB, near Medicine Hat. She attended a one room school, Antelope Cut School. She took high school courses by correspondence. When she was 16, her family moved to Medicine Hat where she attended Medicine Hat High School. She attended Hillcrest Christian College where she met Norm, the love of her life. Norman and Malita were married on April 11, 1953. They moved to the family farm at Champion. Later they moved into Vulcan and then to the farm 3 miles west of Vulcan. The Vulcan community will remember Malita’s smiling face at various businesses in Vulcan – Mitchell’s Pharmacy, The Vulcan Advocate, Donna’s Flower Shop and The Treasury Branch. Malita loved life. She liked people. She tried to encourage everyone she met. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, crocheting, walking, traveling, writing and good gospel music. Malita lived her life for what she loved best on this earth – Family.

Malita and Norm were blessed with 51 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2004. Her family hold the wonderful memories of her love and kindness close to their hearts. Malita struggled with dementia in the past several years of her life. We are saddened by her passing but are joyful that she is free now and enjoying the wonders of heaven, reunited with Norm, her friends and loved ones who have gone on before her. She especially longed to see the face of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Malita is lovingly remembered by her three children, Peggy (Garry) Lucas of Cranbrook, BC, Wade (Debbie) Lebsack of Monte Creek, BC, and Scott Lebsack of Whaletown, BC, her four grandchildren, Troilene (Tyler) Crombie, Blair (Lorien) Lebsack, Scott Lucas, Caitlin (Ben) Krieger, four great grandchildren, Neleta and Austen Crombie, and Jaiden and Nolan Lebsack, by one sister, Irene Hausauer of Medicine Hat and numerous nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life Vulcan Evangelical Missionary Church on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Peter Campbell officiating. Interment Vulcan Cemetery.

We are grateful for the kindness and loving care from Dora and the wonderful staff at Serenity Acres, Chase, BC.

Our condolences in the loss of your Mom. It has been many years since I have seen the family but have many fond memories of my friendship with Peggy. Your Mom always welcomed me into your home for the many times we spent time together. Hope you and your family are doing well.

Dear Peggy, Wade, Scott and your families,

My heart and prayers go out to you as you mourn the loss of your mom, grandma, great grandma, sibling and aunt. I have fond memories of your mom and dad. I am also glad for your mom – that she is now free from the confusion of dementia and understands what glory is. – June (Stinson) Clark
