COMSTOCK, Jason Cory Lanovaz 1998 – 2015

Jason Cory Lanovaz Comstock, known by friends and family as “Cory”, was born in Calgary on January 26, 1998, the chosen son of Keith and Eleanor Comstock, and youngest sibling to Caitlin and Connor, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 in Vulcan.

We would like to thank all of Cory’s friends for accepting him as their friend, because it was so very important for Cory to have you as his friend.

Cory attended elementary school at St. Bede, John the 23rd and Father Scollen, in Calgary. When he was in grade six the family moved to Vulcan, where he attended Prairieview Elementary and then County Central High School for the remainder of his education. He was in the final few months of completing his twelfth year, and was working at the A & W in Vulcan. Cory’s desire was to attend Lethbridge Community College and pursue a career in Computer Technology creating Computer Games.

Cory’s first love was skateboarding, followed closely with his passion for computer games. He enjoyed numerous hours hanging out with his buddies. He had a gentle way with animals and spent time teaching tricks to Caitlin’s dog, “Imriel”. He enjoyed camping, and loved the movie “Brother Bear”. Being the youngest he took every opportunity to tease his older siblings, Caitlin and Connor about how short they were, as he towered over them. He played the flute in school and commented the reason was that this gave him the opportunity to sit with the girls. Cory was teaching himself how to play the Ocarina, a musical wind instrument and was learning a theme from Zelda, which accompanies one of his favourite computer games.

Cory wore his heart on his sleeve and considered his friendships a strong foundation and treasured them immensely. He looked out for his fellow classmates and wanted to make sure that everything was good for them. Cory considered all of his friends his best buddies and cherished the time shared with each and everyone of them.

Family values and time together were instilled in Cory at a young age. While in Calgary his entire family curled and were members of the Calgary Curling Club, upon moving to Vulcan they all took golf lessons, although Cory seemed to find driving the cart more thrilling to him, then swinging the irons.

Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 1:30 pm at the Vulcan Cultural Recreation Centre (504 – 4 Ave. South) Vulcan, with Sue MacDonald D.M. officiating. Inurnment at a later date at Blessed Sacrament Cemetery in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan.
