LAHD, William “Bill” Orden Andrew 1956 – 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of William “Bill” Orden Andrew Lahd, of Milo, announce his sudden passing on January 7, 2017 at the age of 60 years.

Bill attended the Milo School to grade 9, going on to Vulcan and Olds College where he studied agriculture. Bill worked in Calgary prior to taking up farming in his 20’s after his father passed away. After farming for some years, Bill chose to make a change and went to work for Mike Chambers where he stayed for a number of years. From there he went to High River Rentals and ended his work career with Marlin Oilfield Services.

Bill was a big sports fan and enjoyed hockey, baseball, curling and in his later years golf and camping. He also had a strong interest in Genealogy and history and has done extensive work in this regard for his family and the town of Queenstown. Bill was loved strongly and will be missed by many.

Bill is predeceased by his parents Claire and Orden Lahd, his eldest sister Loretta Wills and his nephew Delwyn Dixon. He is survived by his three sisters Levona Dixon, Betty McAurthur and Anne Lahd as well as many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2 pm at the Milo Community Centre.

Tributes in Bill’s memory can be made to the Milo Library, Box 30, Milo, Alberta, T0L 1L0.
