DOIRON, Catherine Marie 1951 – 2020

Catherine Marie Doiron, of Vulcan, passed away suddenly at home on January 19,2020 at the age of 68 years.

Marie was retired from Alberta Health Services where she worked for 25 years and was a devoted employee and loved what she did. While raising her two sons, they moved quite a bit for the boys father’s job. Her move to Vulcan was her last and she felt this was her home to stay and finish raising her youngest son John.

Marie enjoyed watching television and her tv could be on 24/7 watching hockey, football and her all time favorite, curling. We are pretty sure she watched hockey and football because of John’s love for the sports. Marie’s heart never left the East Coast and she was always visiting with her family and friends from there. She had multiply recipes to cook East Coast food, especially her salt water fish and lobster.

Marie looked forward to her oldest son Jeff’s phone calls. Marie anticipated the time for when Jeff would come home for a visit.

Marie adored her son John and the time she spent with him. Their unconditional love for one another was strong, and you knew they had each other’s respect and love. Marie enjoyed the days when her two grandchildren Tyson and Barrett would come over for a barbeque in the summer months.

Marie’s oldest brother Lloyd lives down the street from her and would stop by for his morning coffee to visit his sister, and sometimes would take her for drives around town. Her youngest brother Kevin hung his hat at Marie’s house when he was not working. Those two were two peas in a pod. They shared many laughs and memories from the east coast. You would never know what trouble those two would get into.

Marie is survived by her sons, Jeff Doiron who currently lives in Japan, John (Susan Clement) Doiron of Vulcan, 2 grandchildren, Tyson Doiron of Lethbridge and Barrett Doiron of Vulcan. Marie is also survived by 7 siblings. Lloyd McIsaac, Diane McIsaac, Brian McIsaac, Sharon (McIsaac) Silliker, Donna McIsaac, Mike McIsaac, and Kevin McIsaac. She was predeceased by her mother Theresa McIsaac and father Pius McIsaac.

An informal Celebration of Life will be held at the Vulcan Legion Lounge on Saturday, February 1st, 2020 from 1-3 pm for visits and memories. Marie will be laid to rest at St. Anne Roman Catholic Church Cemetery in Hope River, Prince Edward Island in late spring 2020.

Any tributes in Marie’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, AB/NWT, 200, 325 Manning Rd NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2P5.
