Avery, John “Jack” Wilbert, (of Okotoks, formerly of Fort McMurray), passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Extendicare on August 13, 2017 at the age of 92 years.

Family Memorial will take place in Fort McMurray at a later date. Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Lacombe, AB, also at a later date.

WEBBER, Edna (Tuttle, Nee: Kana) 1927 – 2017

Webber/Tuttle (Nee Kana), Edna, (formerly of Vulcan) of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital, Lethbridge, AB on August 8, 2017 at the age of 89 years.

Edna was born in Medicine Hat, AB on November 29, 1927, the first of three children to Iver and Clara Kana. Edna and her siblings, Irene and Norman, were raised on a sheep ranch in Pendent d’Orielle, southwest of Medicine Hat. Edna married her first husband Vincent Tuttle in 1952 and farmed in the Glasford district near Orion, AB. Together they had five sons. Stumpf, Lorraine of Milo, passed away at the Calgary South Health Campus on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the age of 88 years.

Lorraine was born in the Arrowwood Hospital on February 3, 1929 to John Robert and Annie Goldthorpe, who were English homesteaders in the Eastway district. Lorraine was the youngest of six children and attended Eastway and Buffalo Schools. They milked 14 cows before heading to school by horseback. Mom had a unique style of milking – thumbs turned inward. One of her favorite teachers was Nancy (Holoboff) Kingsmith. Born on July 19, Harold Northcott just celebrated 99 full years of life. On July 28, 2017, he passed into heaven. A veteran of World War II, a farmer, a husband and devoted family man, he passed with peace and dignity with his wife of 74+ years, Janetta by his side.

Gordon Porter Marshall passed away at the High River Hospital on July 21, 2017 at the age of 88 years.

Gordon was born in Vulcan, AB on May 12, 1929. He was predeceased by his first wife Vera (Popoff) in 1993, a sister Betty McKinnon in 1963, his father Leslie in 1980 and his mother Della Poff in 2001.

Nadobny, Kenneth Wayne, of Vulcan, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on April 28, 2017 at the age of 81 years.

Ken was born in Sudbury, Ontario on November 24, 1935. His family later settled in Renfrew. At the age of 21, Ken left home and headed west. He eventually ended up in the Vulcan area where he met and married Carol Elaine Lerohl, on Sept 12, 1961 in Kemmer, Wyoming. They returned to Ontario and lived in Ottawa and then Renfrew. In 1964 they returned to Vulcan where Ken has resided since.
